Getting Started with Mallory

Welcome to Mallory! Here's everything you need to know to start running your family's shared to-do list.

What is Mallory?

Mallory is a shared family to-do list that you run by texting. One person uses the app to keep everything organized, and the rest of the family can be added and managed by that person. Everyone can pitch in just by texting Mallory.

How it works

You run Mallory in the app. From there you add your family members and manage the shared to-do list for everyone.

Family members don't need the app to take part. Once they're added, they can text Mallory to add to-dos, mark things done, and stay in the loop. It's a back-and-forth conversation, so anyone in the family can keep the list up to date over SMS.

Quick Setup Guide
  1. Create your account

Sign up to set up your family's to-do list.

  2. Invite your family

Head to the Family page to add family members so they can text Mallory and share the list.

  3. Add your first to-do

Type it in chat or text Mallory, for example "Add to-do: buy milk."

  4. Assign and schedule

Give a to-do a due time, set a reminder, make it recurring, or assign it to a family member.

  5. Check things off

Mark to-dos done in the app or by telling Mallory over text once they're finished.

Adding to-dos

You can add a to-do straight from the chat in the app, or by texting Mallory. Just say what you need to do:

  • "Add to-do: buy milk" creates a simple item on the list.
  • "Dentist Friday 2pm" becomes a to-do with a due time, so it's there when you need it.
  • "Remind me to call school tomorrow at 9" sets a reminder so you don't forget.
  • "Take out the trash every Tuesday" makes a recurring to-do.
  • "Assign 'pack lunches' to Sam" hands a to-do to a family member.
Where to see your to-dos

Your shared list lives on the Tasks page, where you can see everything that's open, what's done, and who each to-do is assigned to.

The chat opens showing your open to-dos, so it's an easy place to glance at what's next and add or update items in a single conversation.
