Notifications
Configure how and when you receive updates from Mallory.
Receive a daily summary of your upcoming events to stay on top of your schedule.
To set up daily summaries:
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Check "Send me a summary of my upcoming events"
- Choose where to receive it (Email and/or SMS/iMessage)
- Select your preferred time of day
The summary includes all events for the next 24 hours, who's attending, and who's claimed responsibility.
Set up to 3 reminders for upcoming events. Each reminder can be sent at a different time before the event.
To add event reminders:
- Go to Settings → Notifications → Event Reminders
- Click "Add Reminder"
- Choose timing (e.g., 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day before)
- Select delivery method (Email, SMS/iMessage, and/or WhatsApp)
- Add up to 2 more reminders if needed
Note: If you prefer notifications from your iCal or Google Calendar, you can disable Mallory's reminders to avoid duplicates.
Mallory can send notifications through multiple channels. Choose what works best for you:
Detailed notifications with full event information
SMS/iMessage
Quick text reminders on your phone
Reminders in your WhatsApp conversations
You can enable multiple channels for each notification type. For example, receive daily summaries via email and event reminders via SMS.
Set a time window when you don't want to receive any notifications from Mallory.
To set quiet hours:
- Go to Settings → Notifications → Quiet Hours
- Check "Enable quiet hours"
- Set your start time (e.g., 10:00 PM)
- Set your end time (e.g., 7:00 AM)
During quiet hours, Mallory won't send any notifications. Urgent reminders will be queued and sent when quiet hours end.
Each family member can customize their own notification preferences:
- •Go to Settings from the main menu
- •Scroll to the Notifications section
- •Adjust daily summaries, event reminders, and quiet hours
- •Changes are saved automatically
- •Start simple: Begin with one reminder 1 hour before events
- •Avoid duplicates: If using calendar notifications, disable Mallory's reminders
- •Use quiet hours: Prevent late-night notifications from disrupting sleep
- •Choose your channel: SMS for urgent reminders, email for summaries
- •Adjust as needed: Fine-tune your settings based on what works for your family
